Cut little, cut regularly
Try not to remove more than about a third of the blade height in one cut. Cutting regularly in small amounts keeps the lawn thick and avoids the scalped, yellow look that follows a very short cut.
Follow the growing season
In the growing season most lawns need cutting every one to two weeks. In dry summer heat growth slows, especially without irrigation, so the schedule stretches out.
Leave it a little longer in summer
Slightly longer grass shades the soil and holds moisture better in hot weather. Raise the cutting height when the heat arrives.
Clippings and edges
Short clippings can be left on the lawn. Long clumps should be cleared so they do not smother the grass. Edging along beds, paths and walls is what makes a cut lawn look finished.
Regular visits instead of remembering
Mowing is included in all three of our packages, from one visit a month to a weekly visit. Ask for a quote and we will suggest a schedule.
